This is our best class for the person wanting immersion in glass making. You will make paperweights, ornaments, tumblers, bowls, and vases. This class is similar to our daylong class in terms of how the class is taught (you do every step) but it includes more time making work per person. You develop a much better level of skill in this intensive than in any other class that we offer. You also make more work than of any other class, too!
This weekend class begins at 10:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Bring a lunch, but we have a variety of beverages in our studio fridge as well as water and gator aide while you work. Cost for this class is $420.00. A minimum of 3 students are needed for this class to go forward and there is a maximum of 4 students per instructor to insure personalized attention for each participant. Each booking is for one person with a maximum of four allowed in the class.
NOTE: If you can bring your own group, we can offer you substantial discounts on the cost of this class. Please contact us directly to discuss this great incentive (we spend a lot of $$ advertising these classes and we pass those savings on to you when you can bring enrollment up to our required limits!) and we will provide your group with a special coupon code to use for this significant discount.
For those who are able, we offer a pre-class orientation that is designed to give you more “runway” for beginning the first day. This orientation covers safety, tool use, and students enrolled will be able to practice gathering glass out of the furnace and can also learn the basics of shaping. While you will not make finished pieces during this orientation, these first steps go a long way to getting you prepared for when the class begins the following day. We can arrange this orientation the early evening on Friday.
